Fannie and Freddie's Window Dressing

Reuters accuses the U.S. government of bailing out Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac by "flexible accounting". Such window dressing was the fatal blow to the Japanese financial disaster because it made financial indicators unreliable so that the financial market broke down completely.

"I don't know where these guys get the audacity to take our money, taxpayer money, and buy stock in Fannie Mae," Jim Rogers, a famous investor in Singapore, said in an interview.
